Featured Industry

Accounting & Tax Firms

Few businesses feel a technology failure as sharply as an accounting or tax firm in filing season.

A Technology Partner Who Understands the Calendar

Accounting and tax firms operate against fixed external deadlines. Downtime in March is not the same as downtime in July.

Your firm also handles some of the most sensitive data any small business holds — identification numbers, financial records, payroll details for other companies’ employees. That combination, high-value data and deadline pressure, is exactly what makes accounting firms attractive to attackers.

Law Firms

Confidentiality is not a feature request in a law firm — it is the practice. That places real weight on how email is protected, how client documents are stored and shared, and who retains access to a matter after they leave.

  • Email security and anti-impersonation controls
  • Document management and version control
  • Secure client file exchange
  • Access control by matter and role
  • Secure remote and hybrid working
  • Backup and recovery for case-critical data

Financial Services

Financial services businesses hold data that is directly valuable to an attacker, and they operate on systems that need to be available during market and reporting hours rather than whenever convenient.

  • Strong identity and access controls
  • Endpoint detection and response
  • Email security and payment-fraud awareness
  • System availability and monitoring
  • Tested backup and recovery
  • Documentation to support compliance conversations

Healthcare

Healthcare practices need infrastructure that stays available during clinic hours and access controls that hold up when the working day is busy. Privacy expectations sit over everything.

  • Reliable infrastructure and connectivity
  • Access control and least-privilege permissions
  • Endpoint and email protection
  • Support for practice management systems
  • Backup and recovery for patient records
  • Staff security awareness training

Real Estate

Real estate teams work from properties, cars and client sites far more than from a desk. That makes cloud collaboration, mobile device management and dependable communication the backbone of the business.

  • Microsoft 365 and cloud collaboration
  • Mobile device management
  • Secure file sharing with clients and partners
  • Reliable communication tools
  • Remote access from anywhere
  • Protection against wire and payment fraud attempts

Construction

Construction businesses run a permanent office alongside sites that change every few months, often with poor connectivity and devices that live a harder life than office equipment.

  • Field and site connectivity
  • Cloud applications accessible from site
  • Mobile device management and support
  • Durable hardware planning and lifecycle
  • Reliable file access between office and site
  • Backup for project documentation

Professional Services

Consultancies, agencies, engineering practices and similar firms depend heavily on technology but rarely need — or want — a full internal IT department.

  • Complete managed IT without internal headcount
  • Cybersecurity appropriate to the data you hold
  • Microsoft 365 management and support
  • Reliable remote and hybrid working
  • Client-facing collaboration tools
  • Technology planning as the firm grows

Small Businesses

Not every business fits a category. What most small businesses share is that technology has to work, budgets are real, and nobody has time to become an IT specialist on the side.

  • Practical IT support sized to your team
  • Security baseline that fits your budget
  • Email, files and collaboration that just work
  • Backup you do not have to think about
  • Straight answers without unnecessary jargon
  • Room to grow without starting over

A Note on Compliance

Several of the industries above operate under regulatory or professional obligations. We implement and maintain technical controls that commonly support those obligations, and we document what is in place so you can evidence it. We do not provide legal or regulatory advice and we do not guarantee compliance with any specific regulation or standard.

Straight Answer

What Changes by Industry, and What Does Not

Eight headings on one page invites a fair question: is any of this actually different?

The same everywhere

  • Identity, access control and account lifecycle
  • Patching, monitoring and endpoint protection
  • Backup, and whether it has been restored
  • Email security and the fraud that arrives through it
  • Documentation, and someone owning the environment

What genuinely differs

  • The calendar — when downtime is merely annoying and when it is not
  • Which systems the business cannot operate without for an hour
  • How sensitive the data is, and who is allowed near it
  • Where people actually work from — a desk, a site, a car, a client office
  • The applications the sector runs on, and who supports them

Roughly four fifths of the work is the same in every sector. Sector experience shows up in the other fifth — in what gets prioritised, when maintenance is allowed to happen, and what is treated as unacceptable to lose.

FAQ

Industry Questions

Is industry expertise real, or is it the same service with different wording?

Most of the work is genuinely the same. Identity, patching, backup, endpoint security and monitoring do not change because of what a business sells, and any provider claiming a fundamentally different stack per sector is describing marketing rather than engineering.

What does change is the calendar the business runs on, which systems are unacceptable to lose, how sensitive the data is, and where people work from. Those four things change priorities, maintenance windows and design decisions — and getting them wrong is what sector inexperience actually looks like.

Our industry is not listed. Does that rule us out?

No. The sectors on this page are the ones we are asked about most, not a list of who we will work with.

The questions we would ask you are the same either way: what the business depends on, when it cannot afford to be down, and what data would hurt most to lose.

Do you know our specific software?

For accounting and tax work, yes — the applications those firms run are named on this page because we run them day to day.

For a line-of-business application we have not met, we will say so rather than imply otherwise. What we bring is the environment around it: the server or cloud service it runs on, the identity that controls who reaches it, the backup that protects it, and the vendor relationship when the application itself is the problem.

Can you help us become compliant with our industry regulations?

We build and operate technical controls that commonly support regulatory and professional obligations — access control, encryption, logging, retention, tested recovery.

What we do not do is certify or sign off compliance. That determination belongs to your business and its advisers, and a provider who offers to guarantee it is offering something they cannot deliver.

We have a busy season. How do you work around it?

By not doing avoidable work during it. Maintenance windows, migrations and anything with a visible moment get planned around the calendar rather than dropped into it.

It also changes what gets fixed first. A firm heading into filing season has different priorities in January than the same firm has in July, and a plan that ignores that is a plan nobody will follow.

Do you work with businesses that have their own IT person?

Often, yes. A co-managed arrangement works well when the split is written down: we take the layer that needs continuous attention — monitoring, patching, security, backup, identity — and your person keeps the applications and processes specific to your business.

What does not work is an undefined split where each side assumes the other has something covered.
